Work, Rest and Exercise!

My first job out of Uni was great! A year of travelling round Europe organising and running sales workshops for BT Account Managers in a variety of countries. A different city nearly every month and staying in some great hotels. The one drawback was the lack of time to use the hotel gym facilities and also my lack of knowledge in what to do in those gyms if I had the time anyway!

When you have a full time job and a social life (and maybe one or two children added to the mix), prioritising time to exercise can get pushed out of an already hectic schedule. But as I learnt first-hand in my last corporate job it was the lack of exercise that kept me from being healthy and stopped me having the energy I needed to cope with the job, the kids and the rest of life. I had my priorities upside down:

  1. Work
  2. Family
  3. Health

Instead of: 

  1. Health
  2. Family
  3. Work

Now that I have found the right balance of work, rest and exercise, life is so much easier! I have the energy and drive to give to my clients and my family by being fit, strong and nutritionally healthy.

By making the change to eating well and exercising 3 times a week I lost weight, found a passion for lifting weights, started boxing, sprinting and challenging myself in ways I hadn’t done for a long time!
